Besides occasional appearances as a spot commentator, Gill has done serious work on television on two occasions:
In 1967, he did a fifteen-program lecture course on economics for Channel 2 (WGBH) and the Lowell Institute in Boston. He had complete responsibility for the design, writing, and on-air presentation of those fifteen half-hours.
In 1984-85, he was a member of the Design Team, a writer, and the on-air “Economic Analyst” for ECONOMICS U$A, an Annenberg/CPB Project telecourse. He appeared in all twenty-eight programs of this series, which was subsequently updated on two occasions, and was shown widely throughout the 1990s and even as late as the present year (2003).
